Lace
up for Kids is a fundraiser, founded by Wendy's Management Group, Inc.
owner, Robert Goodrich nearly 14 years ago. The program was in
response to research which showed that many children would go to
school with worn and battered
shoes. The Lace Up for Kids campaign is a program whereby new sneakers
are solicited and dropped off at Wendy's restaurants. The program
begins mid summer and ends just prior to the beginning of school.
The
shoes are then distributed to the children who need them and qualify
through a screening done in conjunction with the United Way. In 2002,
nearly 1,000 children received a new pair of sneakers. Lace
Up for Kids is a Trademark of Wendy's Management Group, Inc. |
